UMAT Preparation
Welcome to the UMAT preparation course designed for students taking part in the 2006 UMAT test. Made by and for students, we'll have everything you need to do well on the UMAT in 2006. Our UMAT Prep Package will be released on January 1st with over 100 sample Section 3 questions with answers and explanation, UMAT Section 1 and 2 Powerpoint slideshow plus much more. Here's a sample question:

Explanation:
The shading moves up one every shade. The shapes move two up in the first step and one up in the second step meaning that it will not move in the next step. Therefore the answer must be B.
Approach:
The shading pattern should be obvious. From first glance you should be able to recognise that the answer will have the uppermost shape shaded. Answers D and E can be eliminated.
Next you should pick a shape, let's use the circle for this example. In the first step, it moves up two up ending at the uppermost position and then from there it moves one up (It goes to the bottom as it has reached the uppermost position). The pattern of how many steps it moves up is 2,1,? Thus the next number of steps it moves is 0, or the same as figure three.
The answer is B.
